LOCATIONWhere we are, how we are

We host guests, who want to experience Venice like real Venetians, in a Palace that celebrates the twentieth century Venice after world war two, when Venice was an access door for modern art in Italy.

CALLE DELLA LACCAInformation

Palazzo Venere is located in Calle della Lacca 2462-2463. The Calle leads to the ‘Scuola Grande di San Giovanni Evangelista”. We are just a few steps from the ‘Basilica dei Frari’.
Located in San Polo’s “Sestiere” (one of the six parts into which the city is divided), the palace is a five minute walk from the “main Train Station Santa Lucia” and almost the same from “Piazzale Roma” that is the main Bus Station and a car parking area. Palazzo Venere can also be reached without having to cross any bridges by taking a “vaporetto” (the typical water bus) and getting off at the stop called ‘San Tomà’ along the Grand Canal. Or, if you prefer, you may catch a water-taxi.
Palazzo Venere is characterized by some historical elemen.ts of great artistic value such as the large wooden trusses on the roof of the second floor, the Sansovino’s beams in the halls on the ground and first floor , the “trifore” (typical three-light windows) on the first floor, the flooring in traditional Venetian terrace. The structure of the building is organized as a typical Venetian Palace with a central area that ran through the entire building from one side to the other, called “portego”. The entrance hall leads to a water gate on the canal which characterizes the historical Venetian palaces. On the ground floor there is also a traditional well.
